Vanessa Balleza
(Caracas, 1978)
Vanessa Balleza has a college degree in visual arts from the Central University of Venezuela, and studied comic and illustration at the López Allaco Comic Book Schooll. This studies have influenced her making of a style which combines different techniques and formats. She has work as illustrator for several journals, such as El Diario de Caracas, Economía Hoy y Ecos de Caracas.
Her work can be found also in OceanDrive y Todo en Domingo de El Nacional, to mention a few magazines. Her experience in the world of children literature includes illustrating for Santillana, Romor, Monte Ávila y Biosfera, producing:La T alta, Oto el pirata, El origen de los mosquitos, Orquídea bondadosa y La fiesta del llano.
As a visual artist, she and Cristina Núñez founded Artistas en conjunto, a collective who produces and coordinates art shows and exhibitions since 2004.
